A Word from Phil...
​Thanks for coming to the website. I appreciate you taking the time to consider booking one of my classes. I’ve been in the Seattle Fire Department for 31 years. I've recently retired as Deputy Chief of Operations/Shift Commander. I’ve had the opportunity to work in the training division as a Lieutenant, Captain, and Deputy Chief. Over that time, I have proposed, designed, and delivered a wide variety of training programs. I have also spent plenty of time in the operations division and I have developed a good blend of the operational and training environments. I’m currently teaching classes on Reading Smoke, Tactical Decision Making, Instructor Development and Air Management. I have spent a lot of time researching the topic of decision-making in high stress environments and the Recognition-Primed decision making model. It is my belief that fire service professionals can be trained to make better decisions. I strive to create better instructors through teaching to fire department’s like yours and by developing the people in the Seattle Fire Department. Hoping to meet you soon.
